How to choose between a Stainless Steel Pallet Truck or a Galvanised Pallet Truck?

Stainless steel and galvanised pallet trucks are both used in warehouse and industrial settings, but they each have different advantages which make them more suitable for different types of environments.  

Stainless Steel Pump Trucks tend to be more expensive than their galvanised counterparts, but they do offer quite a few advantages over galvanised trucks:

1. Corrosion Resistance: Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion, which makes it an ideal choice for environments where the truck will be exposed to moisture, chemicals, and any other harsh conditions. Due to their nature, stainless steel pallet trucks are also the perfect choice for food production and pharmaceutical environments.
2. Hygiene: Stainless steel is super easy to sanitise and keep clean, making it the perfect choice for food production companies, pharmaceutical, and other environments where hygiene is essential.
3. Durability: Stainless steel is a very strong and durable, and it can withstand heavy loads and extremely frequent use.
4. Has the option of a weigh-scale model – This can make taking weight readings from the truck very simple – just lift the load and read off the weight. They are capable of weighing in both kgs and lbs, the weigh-scale model is designed to suit a variety of applications.

However, Galvanised Pallet Trucks tend to be cheaper than stainless steel trucks, and they are suitable for:

1. Use in damp and humid conditions/environments. They are manufactured with steel which has been coated in zinc, which hugely increases corrosion resistance, and can also come to you painted, if required. However, it must noted that the zinc coating doesn’t offer the same durable long lifespan as stainless steel.
2. More budget friendly: Galvanised pallet trucks tend to be a more cost-effective option for environments where a stainless steel truck is not absolutely necessary.

To conclude, if your requirements are for a pallet truck which will withstand harsh, outdoor, or high moisture / wet environments, or for a food-processing/production facility, then a stainless steel pallet truck is the right option for you. However, if you are looking for a more budget friendly option, for use more indoor, but with an element of rust resistance, then a galvanised pallet truck is a great option for you.
